1958年静岡市生まれ。1981年多摩美術大学グラフィックデザイン専攻卒業後キリンビール株式会社に入社し、パッケージデザイン、広告宣伝等を担当。1985年単行本『エレキな春』で漫画家としてデビュー。パロディーを中心にした新しいタイプのギャグマンガ家として注目を浴びる。1994年独立後は、幻想的あるいは文学的な作品など次々に発表、マンガ家として独自な活動を続ける一方、近年ではエッセイ、映像、ゲーム、アートなど多方面に創作の幅を広げている。

Born in Shizuoka. After graduating from the graphic design course at Tama Art University in 1981, Shiriagari worked for Kirin Brewery Company creating package design and advertising. In 1985, he made his debut as a manga-artist with “Ereki na Haru” and was recognized as a new genre of manga-artist with unique style of lyrical nonsense. After becoming a freelance manga-artist in 1994, he made many poetic and literal works, establishing himself as a very unique artist. Recently, he has expanded his creative fields to writing essays, movies, games, and arts.
