「アートとデザインは（現実味のない）宙に浮いたものであってはならない」という信念に基づいて活動しているスタジオ、＆Larry。新しいプロジェクトに取り組む際、最初に行うのはクライアントやクリエイティブパートナーの名前を、彼らの名前の前に置くことだ。（～＆Larryとなる。）コラボレーション精神とお互いをリスペクトする彼らの心構えは、パーソナルなレベルだけでなく、さらに大きな社会や環境という枠にまで及び、その心は彼らの作品ひとつひとつに表れている。
プロジェクトが商業的または実験的な性質であるかに関わらず、＆Larryは美しいだけではなく、正直で実用的な作品づくりを目指す、というアプローチを崩さない。彼らのスタジオは、イームズの「自分の楽しみを真剣に追求する」というモットーを忠実に守っていて、それは「CROCS」のポスターや、シンガポールという国のインスピレーションから作られた「High&Dry」の多目的ホルダーや、「Take it awayランプ」等のプロダクトまで、ジャンルを超えた活動に反映されている。
As a studio that believes art and design shouldn't exist in a vacuum, &Larry always begins a new project by putting the name of the client or creative partner before its own. This spirit of collaboration and respect extends from the personal level out to the greater sphere of our social and physical environment, and is reflected in the thinking that goes into each piece of work.
Whether commercial or experimental, &Larry approaches every project with a
desire to create works that are honest, functional and expressive beyond aesthetics.
Adopting the Eames motto of 'Take your pleasure seriously', the studio's philosophy
is evident across such diverse works as posters for CROCS, as well as intriguing
Singapore-inspired Objects such as its 'High & Dry' multi-function holder and
'Take it away' lamp.
