The ICSID 国際デザイン会議 2009とIFI 国際デザイン会議 2009は、シンガポールの新たな経済発展を担う「デザイン」をプロモートするSingapore Design Festival 2009に参加する。このフェスティバルは、シンガポール国内外の主なクリエイター陣をフィーチャーし、カンファレンス、エキシビション、ワークショップ、オープンハウスに加え、プロダクト・ローンチ、アワード・セレモニー、また国ごとのプレゼンテーションも企画、国際的なイベントとなる。この2009年のフェスティバルでは、シンガポールという島国の中で行われるが、開催される100を越える関連イベントに、のべ10万人以上の参加者を見込んでいる。
シンガポール情報芸術省によって設立されたDesignSingaporeカウンシルは、シンガポールのデザインの発展とプロモーションを目的に設立された公的組織。カウンシルは、他の政府機関、デザイン・コミュニティー、産業界、教育機関等と密に連携し、シンガポールを世界的デザイン・クリエイティビティーの中心となる目的に向け、活動している。
The ICSID World Design Congress 2009 and IFI World Design Congress 2009 will be part of the Singapore Design Festival 2009, which celebrates and promotes design as a propeller of the new economy. The Festival is inclusive and international in its outlook, featuring prominent international and Singapore creative personalities, as well as a myriad of events including conferences, exhibitions, workshops, open houses, product launches, award ceremonies and country presentations. We expect the 2009 Festival to attract over 100,000 people participating in more than 100 activities island-wide.
The DesignSingapore Council, set up by the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts, is the public organisation for promotion and development of Singapore design. The Council works closely with other government agencies, the design community, industry and education institutions to accomplish its vision of developing Singapore into a leading international centre for design creativity and excellence.
