Traditional Woodcut Prints of The Adachi Woodcut Prints -The Last Publisher-
The Adachi Foundation for the Preservation of Woodcut Printing
The Adachi Foundation for the Preservation of Woodcut Printing is the only remaining publisher in Japan with craftsmen preserving the high skills to make Ukiyo-e. In order to preserve and inherit traditional woodcut printing techniques developed through Ukiyo-e from the Edo Period, activities vary around a core of growing technicians. Adachi continues to present many works from Ukiyo-e reprinting to Yamato-e, including the Tale of Genji Picture Scroll, woodcut prints of Japanese painting masters, and works by modern artists.
