Hexaproject “Express” in Shanghai: Integration of all hybrid expressions born in the new age -contemporary expressions by young artist of Asia-

As the first overseas exhibition, Hexaproject will be hosting “Express,” an exhibition focusing on contemporary art from China and Japan. In the Asian art scene, next generation creators are making remarkable achievements; they have integrated music, design, visuals, and more, while searching for original unique forms of expression. Their activities in a wide range of fields, and expressions that are not confined by genre can be defined as “hybrid expressions.” New forms of art based on Asian subculture is full of speed and keen sensitivity racing to keep up with evolving society and technology. The work of these artists will be presented in Shanghai, one of the most rapidly developing cities in Asia. The exhibition introduces approximately 80 pieces of contemporary art, interactive media, and video installations by 20 artists based in Japan, Taiwan, and Shanghai. We hope participants can sense the “express” of the next generation through these hybrid expressions.
