Product designer raised in Scotland. Major in mixed media under the textiles programme at the Royal College of Art in London. Donna began knitting dolls while she studied and started her own company when she graduated in 2003. Her large collection designed for home products are made of high-quality lambswool, and has received many awards. Winner of the “British Designer Of The Year 2010 UK” at Elle Decoration’s British Design Awards. She is involved in many projects including the exhibition, “Endangered Species” (Yorkshire Sculpture Park) and exhibitions of knitted sculptures and paintings. In 2013, Donna held her 10th anniversary exhibition at The London Design Festival (ICN gallery).

Donna Wilson “How to Make Traditional Handmade Products Loved All Over the World”

Donna Wilson’s products are handmade by English traditional knitting craftsmen. She has recently introduced work other than wool such as melamine, cotton, and ceramics. Currently, her products are distributed in approximately 35 countries around the globe. Even after her business success, she has continued parts of the knitting, sewing and embroidery within her own studio based in England, to pursue the handmade quality and British craftsmanship. The talk will reflect back at her 10 years, starting from university graduation and starting her own company; it will focus on her passion for design and company management.
