Back again for the 6th time this winter break, the CCC Kids Animation Workshop fosters the joy of animation-making and challenges childrens' creative skills with everyday stationary items, a digital camera and computer. It'll be two days of friends, fun and animated memories. All participating children will receive a DVD of their animation work.

“Workshop on the Traditional Arts of the Shizuoka Region”

“Ukiyo-e Demonstrations & Workshops”

Demonstrations and workshops by the Adachi Institute of Woodcut Prints who continue the Edo-period techniques of woodcut printing. Visitors can watch up-close how a master builds up layers of each color onto the Ukiyo-e using using skills and the vividness of a freshly painted the prints. In the workshop, visitors will experience printing on the woodblock by using tools and stands that used by craftsmen as well as feeling the texture of Washi paper by touching it. It allows visitors to visualise how the people in the Edo period enjoyed Ukiyo-e.

Shizuoka is host to the internationally active, East London-based artist Stik's first ever street art project in Japan! Events include a 50 meter wall painting workshop for children and a gigantic painting with a Japanese culture theme on the outer wall of CCC. There will also be a live painting performance in downtown Shizuoka City.

CCC Creative Workshop “Landscape Portraits with Collage”

Emily Allchurch is one of the UK's up-and-coming artists and for this workshop she will be teaching participants how to create landscape portraits using photo-collage. By using collage techniques of combining seemingly unrelated images, one can express unexpectedly magical worlds. Come stimulate your creativity and experience a different way of "painting" with photo-collage.
