A contemporary artist, he is active mainly in Hokkaido and Germany. Not only does he vigorously create his works and hold exhibits in and out of Japan, he widely plays an active role in producing many public collections, being a director of plays and performances. He attempts to express his inner existence by creating installation productions, which exceeds a plane and a solid by using simple, organic and direct installations such as pictures, water, speakers, and voices.

[A blessing of imperfection]
The theme of the works I have been producing for the past 10 years is memory; such as the memory of materials, conscious memories, the memories of mankind etc. My methodology for these works is the combination of photographs and objects. These works are searching for memories that my mind has intended to create and keep. For this exhibition, I will present works which were produced based on my own personal memories.[Satoshi Hata]
